Most would probably wonder why a Banana would be on the herb list and not on the tree list... Banana is in fact a herbaceous perennial, that fruits. A herb is a plant whose stem does not contain any woody tissue. Banana “trees” are therefore not trees. They are herbaceous plants and should perhaps be called banana herbs.

I had four different variety of banana, but three seem to have not made it through last Winter. The last one, I'm not sure if it'll produce fruit or if it's an ornamental variety. Will try again with more edible varieties next year.
