Comfrey
External Use Only
Externally, it is said to be anti-inflammatory and speed wound healing due to its natural concentration of allantoin.
I mainly use it for fertilizer.
Comfrey is known as a chop-and-drop plant. This is because its long tap root can reach depths many trees cannot and pull up nutrients the trees cannot reach. Once its done blooming, I cut it back (putting the leaves under other young plants). The leaves break down and release the nutrients. Cutting the plant back, also triggers it to bloom again. Doing this, I have been able to get them to bloom 4+ times a year. Bees love comfrey flowers.
